Detox

A safe, steady start.

Detox in Wheatfield, Indiana

Detox is the first step for many people, and the one that worries them most. Here is what it involves, in plain terms.

Opening early 2027.

Call any time. Confidential. A real person answers.

Do I need detox?

Not everyone does. Detox is for people whose bodies have come to depend on a substance, so that stopping makes them unwell. A medical assessment is how that gets decided, and you don’t have to work it out yourself.

  • You feel sick, shaky, sweaty, or anxious when you stop
  • You drink or use every day, or most days
  • You’ve tried to stop and started again to feel normal
  • You take more than one substance
  • A doctor has told you not to stop suddenly

What good detox looks like

Assessment

A clinician finds out what you’ve been taking, how much, and for how long, and checks your health before anything else happens.

Symptom management

Withdrawal symptoms are watched and treated as they come, so you are as comfortable as you can be.

Medical oversight

Medical staff decide what care you need and adjust it as you go. Our staffing plan has nurses on campus around the clock and a nurse practitioner on the team.

Transition into residential

Detox on its own is rarely enough. The handover to residential treatment is planned from the first day, and here it happens on the same campus.

Medication policy

Medications for addiction treatment are available through our prescribers when they are right for you.

How long it takes

It varies with the substance and the person.

What happens after

Detox clears the way. The work of recovery happens next, in residential treatment, and you stay on the same campus with people who already know you.
