How It Works

Ten steps, one at a time.

From the first call to life after treatment.

Nobody expects you to know how this works. Here is the whole path, in the order it happens, so nothing is a surprise.

Opening early 2027.

Call any time. Confidential. A real person answers.

Step 1The first call

It starts with a conversation. We ask a few questions about what’s been going on, so we can tell you honestly whether we’re the right place and what happens next. You can call for yourself or for someone you love.

  • Who answersA person answers every call, day or night.

Step 2Insurance check

Before you commit to anything, we find out what your plan covers and tell you in plain language. You give us your insurance details and we do the calling.

  • How fastOur target is the same day.

Step 3Getting here

The campus is in Wheatfield, Indiana, in Jasper County. Tell us where you’re coming from and we’ll help you plan the trip.

  • Address12501 N State Road 49, Wheatfield, IN 46392
  • By roadOn State Road 49 at the edge of Wheatfield, just north of State Road 10. About 10 miles south of Kouts and 22 miles south of Valparaiso.

Step 4Arrival and in-person evaluation

You come to the Welcome Center first. Someone meets you, gets you settled, and a clinician sits down with you for an evaluation in person. That evaluation decides where you start.

Step 5The detox wing

If your evaluation shows you need detox, this is where you begin. Detox is about getting through withdrawal safely and as comfortably as possible, with your symptoms watched and treated.

  • Medical monitoringOur staffing plan has nurses on campus around the clock and a nurse practitioner on the team.
  • MedicationMedications for addiction treatment are available through our prescribers when they are right for you.

Step 6Your first 24 hours

The first day is deliberately quiet. Nobody expects much of you except rest.

At intake
Someone from our peer team meets you, so the first face you see is a person who has been where you are.
First
A medical assessment, early, so any medication you need isn’t held up.
Family
A call home, if you want one.
Overnight
Nurses are on campus through the night.

If your evaluation shows you don’t need detox, you skip that wing and settle straight into your residence.

Step 7Residential days

Once you’re steady, days take on a rhythm: therapy, groups, meals together, and time on campus. Recreation is part of the day, and it supports the clinical work without replacing it.

Morning
Breakfast at 7:00, then a walk or mindfulness on the grounds. Community meeting at 8:30, a clinical group at 9:00, and individual therapy, case management, and medical visits from 10:30.
Midday
Lunch at 12:00. A skills group at 1:00: DBT, life skills, and work readiness.
Afternoon
Program time from 2:30: equine therapy, the mechanic and woodworking shops, the art room, the music room, or the gym. Peer support group at 4:30.
Evening
Dinner at 5:30. A recovery meeting on site at 7:00 (AA, NA, or SMART). Journaling, family calls, and quiet time from 9:00.

This is our planned sample weekday. Weekends swap the groups for a process group, time in the gym and game room, a cookout, family visiting, and a movie night or the bonfire.

Step 8Family involvement

Addiction affects the whole family, and so does recovery. We’ll tell your family how they can be part of it, and you decide what you’re comfortable with.

  • Family programA family session is part of the weekend, and our alumni and family coordinator stays in touch with families after discharge.
  • VisitingOur sample weekend sets aside the early afternoon for family visiting.
  • Phone callsEvenings include time for family calls.

Step 9Step-down

You don’t go from full structure to none overnight. Step-down care keeps you on the same campus, with the same people, and more independence in your day.

Step 10We stay with you

This is the step most places skip. You leave with a named navigator and a written plan. We call within 48 hours, every week for the first month, and we keep checking in for five years. The community is yours for life.

Common questions

All questions
How do I know if detox is needed?

You don’t have to work that out alone. If you feel sick, shaky, or anxious when you stop, or you drink or use every day, a medical assessment is the way to find out. Call us and we’ll talk it through.

Do you take my insurance?

The fastest way to know is to let us check. We are opening to serve people with Indiana Medicaid. We do not have contracts with commercial insurers yet, so if you have commercial insurance, call us and we will tell you plainly where things stand.

What should I pack?

Comfortable clothes for about a week, and any current medications in their original containers.

Can family visit?

Family is part of recovery here. Our sample weekend sets aside the early afternoon for family visiting and a family session.
